Punisher: Body Count #1

So here it is, the first official episode. In it, Jake and I describe our origin stories in the world of the Punisher and the comics medium itself. In Flashbacks,  we talk of Frank Castle’s first appearances in Amazing Spider-Man 129, 134, and 135. Then, in Bullet Points, we discuss “In the Blood,” the mini-series that concluded Matt Fraction and Rick Remender’s run on mainstream Marvel Punisher.  We wrap things up in Discharge Papers where we talk the other comics we’re reading and I complain about Superman.

We’re looking forward to what you all think about it.  Love it, hate it, leave a comment below.

    Impressions:

    – Chromium age- very smart. Like it.
    – “I’ll stop saying ‘um’ so much” – thank you
    – Jake, just blow your damn nose, man.
    – TODD McFarlane, not Seth Macfarlane
    – Cartoons seem to have gotten a lot of us in this age-frame into comic books.
    – Mike Zeck IS awesome.
    – Don King, hah
    – Charlie is sleeping, hah
    – You’re still saying LIKE a lot, but it is lessened from last time.
    – Antonio Banderes is indeed the Tarantula. You forgot to mention his hilarious pointy shoes.
    – Rucka is such a perfect fit for Punisher, but I have no faith whatsoever that he won’t be fucked with by Marvel.
    – Punisher has indeed been explored enough introspectively. Garth said what basically needed to be said on the subject, and no one else needs to bother.
    – Discharge papers, hah.
    – The anti-christ thing- yeesh. Old.
    – Dart board, hahahaaa
    – Super events forced me out of mainstream comics.
    – Moon night/JMS/Superman Grounded commentary- excellent. We are indeed our own worst enemies, and JMS can’t write. On the other hand, I think there would have been plenty more unintentional comedy to be had if he had continued writing the title. There’s a Bizarro storyline in here, somewhere.
    – Not a fan of the intro and outro music.

    Good podcast, dig the camaraderie.

Thanks for the feedback! We will definitely take all of your suggestions into consideration. Especially the bit about blowing my nose!

  3. khan says:

Try tying in other comics as well. Punisher’s good tho.

    • thechromiumagecollector says:

Well Khan, we are a podcast dedicated first and foremost to the punisher. We do like other comics, and we love to talk about them. That’s why we have the segment discharge papers at the end of the show. Thanks for listening, and stay tuned for our next episode that will be coming very, get soon!

  4. Blackstone says:

Good episodes. I hang with a lot of comic book geeks, but none are hardcore Punisher fans. It’s nice to hear knowledgeable fans analyze Frank Castle, which is my favorite fictional character since 1992.

    Carry on, gentlemen.

Thanks for the compliment (sp?)! If you ever want us to answer some specific questions, drop us a line at punisherbodycount@gmail.com In our next episode, we are going to start a segment called Mail Call where we answer peoples questions on the show. Also, we are working on lining up a very cool interview, so stay tuned for more news on that!

      • khan says:

I’m gonna call you nightwing now cuz I know how much you love him. You should cover some nightwing in discharge papers =)XD

      • thechromiumagecollector says:

Will do Khan! We are going to be putting out an episode in the next few days, so stay tuned for Nightwing!
